Children-friendly | Age 8-16

Eva Gyawali has come all the way from Nepal to show us how much it is to learn STEAM principles with common-place materials! Join this workshop for some balloon-powered fun!

Eva is part of Karkhana,  a leader in frugal innovation in education. Through a social entrepreneurial model, Karkhana is responsive to local problems and needs. Of particular note is their role in the aftermath of the earthquake in Nepal in 2015. In collaboration with the Rato Bangala Foundation, they sprang into action and ultimately trained 6412 teachers in Kathmandu, Lalipur, Bhaktapur, Kavre, Nuwakot, and Dhading, reaching more than 200,600 students. A legacy of that is the BeeCreative co-curricular program, whereby Karkhana supports local teachers in developing lesson plans and train them in pedagogy. Their other major program would be Karkhana Innovators Club, an after-school program engaging children in project based learning.
